The Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SPK) unites the Staatsbibliothek and numerous museums with diverse themes under a single umbrella; this includes the Ägyptische Museum, the Antikensammlung, the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte, the Pergamonmuseum and the Vorderasiatische Museum. The collections and holdings are both encyclopedic and universal; they document the cultural development of mankind from the early stages to the present, and combine to form a unique basis for research. An especially unique characteristic of the collections is that they cover all branches of cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the interdisciplinary work at the Berliner Antike-Kolleg benefits from the fact that the activities and knowledge archives of the SPK are situated at the interface of art and culture on the one hand, and of knowledge and research on the other–a position especially beneficial for junior scholars at BerGSAS.

Die Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SPK) vereinigt die Staatsbibliothek und zahlreiche Museen mit unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten unter einem Dach, darunter das Ägyptische Museum, die Antikensammlung, das Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte, das Pergamonmuseum oder das Vorderasiatische Museum. Die Sammlungen und Bestände sind enzyklopädisch und universal zugleich, sie dokumentieren die kulturelle Entwicklung der Menschheit von den Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart und bilden eine einzigartige Forschungsbasis. Ein besonderes Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Bestände ist, dass sie sämtliche Sparten der kulturellen Überlieferung umfassen.
Der interdisziplinären Arbeit im Berliner Antike-Kolleg kommt darüber hinaus zu Gute, dass die SPK mit ihrer Arbeit und ihren Wissensarchiven an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kunst und Kultur einerseits und Wissenschaft und Forschung andererseits steht, eine Position, von der insbesondere der wissenschaftliche Nachwuchs im Rahmen der Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies profitiert.
