A View of Early Helladic III Interaction Through Pottery Attributes
The Early Helladic III period (EH III) on mainland Greece is among the most poorly understood periods within the Aegean Bronze Age. Characterized by asynchronous destruction levels and two different re-datings of material which is typically both poorly stratified and rare, EH III has long presented significant challenges to scholars. This research project uses metrical and stylistic pottery attributes at several sites across the south and central Greek mainland to shed light upon the dynamics of production, interaction, and exchange during EH III in northeastern Peloponnese, the Saronic Gulf, and within central Greece.
