Einstein Stiftung Berlin

In 2023, BerGSAS was successful in the competition for the title of Einstein Foundation Doctoral Programme (EFDP) and can strategically strengthen the area of Digital Humanities during the funding period (2024-27). Together with the DAI and the BBAW, Telota, BerGSAS develops and implements innovative method training formats. These will then become an integral part of the BerGSAS curriculum. Three doctoral projects are also being funded.

Since 2019 (till 2025), the Einstein Center Chronoi has funded several doctoral projects and makes it possible for BerGSAS to hold events that are of relevance to the center's thematic focus on time and the perception of time in the ancient world.

In January of 2017, BerGSAS was awarded second place in the competition for the Einstein Doctoral Programme Prize, which carries a three-year Einstein Doctoral Programme grant.

Berlin University Alliance

The Oxford – Berlin Graduate Network in Ancient Studies was established in 2019. Supported by funds from the Berlin University Alliance, the network makes both doctoral exchanges and joint academic events possible.

German Academic Exchange Service

BerGSAS has been one of the graduate schools supported under the Graduate School Scholarship Programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)since 2014. These include many applicants from emerging and developing countries.

Research Training Group Philosophy, Science and the Sciences

The Research Training Group Philosophy, Science and the Sciences existed from 2014-2023/24. Doctoral students in this research training group (RTG) examined research topics as the dialogue between various forms and models of knowledge in ancient Greek, or Roman and Arabic philosophy and science. The RTG took an inter-disciplinary approach, andhilosophy, classical philology, Arabic studies and the history of knowledge were their principal fields.

The RTG's doctoral students are enrolled in the BerGSAS doctoral program "Ancient Philosophy and History of Ancient Science".

Excellence Cluster 264 Topoi

Founded within the context of the Excellence Cluster 264 Topoi (2007-2019), BerGSAS had close ties to the cluster, also serving as the graduate school for all of the cluster's doctoral students. These students were supported with doctoral fellowships.
