For this roundtable we propose to simultaneously engage with the archaeology of ancient extraction and the extractivist nature of archaeological practices in the present, revolving around the key topics:

Materiality | Archaeological methodology | Landscape | Heritage | Ontology

The focus lies with the diachronic extraction of mineral resources in Eurasian landscapes from a methodological and ontological point of view, but contributions focused on other materials, regions, and approaches are welcome.
