Edition Topoi, which is managed by Forum Digital Antiquities (FDA), is the first publishing platform serving the humanities that supports the linkage of its scholarly publications with the associated research data. Edition Topoi, which was created as part of the Excellence Cluster Topoi, is being transferred to the permanent structures of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg (BAK) in a multi-stage process.

An innovative digital research platform operating since 2014, Edition Topoi provides an infrastructure that can publish research findings and other datasets in publicly visible and citable forms. In addition to two publication series and a journal, Edition Topoi currently encompasses a large number of digital repositories that make extensive collections of data (and the corresponding metadata), available for unrestricted use.

Edition Topoi holds itself to a high standard when publishing written works, research data and digitized content: its peer-review process guarantees the quality of published material, which is prepared for release by knowledgeable staff using the latest technologies and in accordance with international standards. Moreover, Edition Topoi has arrangements with the university libraries in place guaranteeing the permanent archiving of all publications.

Edition Topoi promotes open access to scholarly knowledge. All of its publications can be viewed and downloaded from anywhere around the world free of charge.
