We interviewed Reinhard Bernbeck, professor at the Institute of Near Eastern Archaeology at Freie Universität Berlin, for the fifth interview in the "Active Voices" series. Reinhard Bernbeck considers the topics of "transdisciplinarity" and "participation" both in connection with his archaeological work in West Asia and in connection with excavation projects on the recent past in Berlin-Brandenburg. In doing so, he draws a very differentiated picture of the goals and feasibility of "transscientific" cooperative research in both cultural areas.
