Archaeology and ethnography are increasingly converging theoretically and methodologically and are now also encountering each other in empirical projects. On the basis of a manuscript by Alexander Veling (Freie Universität Berlin, Prehistoric Archaeology) and Johannes Coughlan (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Sociology) we want to discuss differences, areas of overlap and possibilities for cooperation.
