2nd Summer School: "Music Archaeology – Approaches, Applied Research, Methods"
Following the success of our first Summer School on Music Archaeology in September 2014, we expand our topics and explore issues previously touched on. In 2014 the Summer School attracted huge interest not only from academics but also from the general public, including school pupils, teachers and the media. Deutschland Radio and INFO Radio reported with enthusiasm about this new exciting scientific field.
The 2nd Summer School discusses approaches, methods and applied research in music archaeology and lays out the scientific tools used in investigations. A Round Table discussion and sessions featuring four lecturers open the discussion areas for all participants (sessions A and E). And in the second part we delve deeper into the topics of last year and examine music in cult (B), present an overview of early music cultures (C) and take a closer look at certain musical instruments (D).
